NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona University men's basketball head coach
Tobin Anderson announced the next five additions to his 2023-24 recruiting class. The five new signees run the Gaels' total to 11 newcomers for their inaugural campaign under Anderson.
Sultan Adewale (East London, England),
Greg Gordon (Chicago, IL),
Cam Krystkowiak (San Diego, CA),
Wheza Panzo (Mississauga, Ontario) and
Terrell Williams Jr. (Arlington, TX) are the latest to ink with the Maroon & Gold.
With the anticipated return of
Osborn Shema (Kanombe, Rwanda) for his final season of eligibility and the first six signees to the recruiting class, Iona has one remaining scholarship available.

Dylan Saunders (Cave Spring, VA) and
Idan Tretout (Brooklyn, NY)
were previously announced as Gael newcomers.
"I'm really excited about the class we put together," said Anderson. It is a combination of experience with some great freshmen who I think are going to be really good down the road."

SULTAN ADEWALE
Sultan Adewale is a 6-8 forward from East London, England, by way of Neumann Goretti Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Adewale starred for two seasons with the powerhouse Saints, earning a Philadelphia Catholic League and PIAA Class 4A state championships as a junior and a championship game appearance in both tournaments as a senior. Last season, Adewale helped Neumann Goretti to a 26-4 record, posting 14.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while shooting higher than 60% from the field. He was named Pennsylvania Sportswriters All-State First Team for his efforts. As a junior, Adewale averaged 11.7 points and 7.8 boards as the Saints finished 24-4 with the PCL and PIAA titles. Adewale began his scholastic career in the United States at St. Louis Christian Academy in Missouri. He is a member of Great Britain's FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup and European Championships teams.
Described as a fierce competitor on both ends of the court with a great motor, Adewale boasts length, athleticism, and the toughness of a prototypical Philadelphia guard and looks to make an immediate impact on Iona's 2023-24 lineup.

GREG GORDON
Greg Gordon is a 6-5 wing from Dyersburg State Community College in Tennessee. In 55 games over two seasons, Gordon averaged 23.1 points and 11.4 rebounds, scoring a total of 1,292 points in two seasons with the Eagles. A two-time NJCAA Division I All-American, Gordon was named to the second team after his sophomore campaign and third team following his freshman year. Other accolades include two-time Tennessee Community College Athletic Association Player of the Year and First Team honors, 2022-23 Offensive Player of the Year and 2021-22 Rookie of the Year. He led the TCCAA in scoring both seasons and rebounding and field goal percentage as a freshman. Gordon posted 40 double-doubles in 55 games, including 28 games with 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds. His DSCC team posted a 45-14 record.
Gordon played scholastically for Coral Springs High School in South Florida.

CAM KRYSTKOWIAK
Cam Krystkowiak is a 6-9 forward from San Diego, CA who played the last two seasons at Dartmouth College in the Ivy League. Krystkowiak earned his degree and will have two seasons of eligibility following a redshirt rookie campaign in 2019-20 and the Ivy League's election to sit out the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Krystkowiak appeared in 45 games and made 19 starts in his two years playing with the Big Green. He scored 220 points and grabbed 125 rebounds while boasting a 52.6% field goal percentage and 43.7% from long distance. Last year he made 18 starts and averaged 18.0 minutes per game, averaging 4.9 points and 3.2 rebounds.
As a scholastic athlete, he played a post-graduate season at Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts, helping the squad to a 32-6 record and a NEPSAC AAA title. He was a four-year letterwinner at Brighton High School in Utah prior to enrolling at NMH. His senior campaign he boasted 18.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game and a spot on the 5A All-State Second Team. He is the son of nine-year NBA veteran and former Montana, Utah, and Milwaukee Bucks head coach Larry Krystkowiak.
Krystkowiak is a skilled stretch four man, who can shoot the three, handle the ball well and is a particularly good frontcourt passer.

WHEZA PANZO
Wheza Panzo is a 6-7 wing from Mississauga, Ontario who played four seasons at Stetson University in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Panzo played 120 games for the Hatters and made 44 starts while scoring 655 points, grabbing 419 rebounds, with 90 assists and 164 three-point field goals. He had a breakout senior campaign as one of the top sharpshooters in the NCAA, converting 46.9% of his attempts from distance. He was one make shy of qualifying for the NCAA leaderboard, where he would have been No. 2 in the nation. Panzo averaged 8.6 points, 4.6 rebounds with 76 three-pointers made and an incredible 2.83 assist-to-turnover ratio. During his rookie campaign, Panzo started for Stetson in their contest vs. the Gaels in the MAAC-ASun Challenge at Disney World.
Scholastically, Panzo played a postgraduate season at The Potter's House in Jacksonville, Florida where he averaged 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game. He graduated in 2018 from Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee, helping his team to the FCA national championship in 2018. Panzo represented Ontario in the Canada Games and earned a silver medal for Canada in the FIBA U18 Americas Championship.

TERRELL WILLIAMS JR.
Terrell Williams Jr. is a 6-6 wing who earned his degree from Southern University. He played three seasons with the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based SWAC school, appearing in 82 games while making 68 starts. Originally from Arlington, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Williams scored 677 points, grabbed 314 rebounds, dished out 92 assists and recorded 63 steals. Among the Gaels' five NCAA Division I transfers in the 2023-24 recruiting class, he is the top scorer. Williams averaged 7.2 points per game last year after a career best 9.8 ppg in 2021-22. For his career, he has shot 47.5% from the field and 36.0% from distance.
Williams averaged 14 ppg, 8 rpg and 3 apg his senior season at Mansfield High School. He earned 2nd Team All-District 7-6A and was ranked as one of the state's top 50 players by TexasHoops.com. Williams averaged 11 ppg and 6 rpg his junior season, earning 2nd Team All-District 4-6A.
