Kedarjah Lewis found the back of the net with 15.2 seconds left to propel the Iona University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Le Moyne in non-conference action at Mazzella Field. The Gaels earned their first win of the season following two challenging matches on the road at Providence and Purdue to start and its toughest upcoming at No. 9 Texas on Sunday.
An evenly played first half saw its best scoring opportunity from Le Moyne in the 35th minute as the Dolphins' Sofia Sanzo caromed an attempt off the lower right post and followed with a rebound into the hands of freshman Gael goalkeeper

Samantha Hogan on the sideline. Hogan found her teammate at the top of the box. McNally dribbled to the endline and found Lewis wide open in the middle as the junior slid a one-timer into the right corner for Iona's first goal of the 2023 campaign with less than 20 seconds to play.
Rogers made her only two saves of the contest in the first frame, earning her first collegiate win and shut out. Iona led 9-5 in shot attempts, its lone tally on net resulting in the goal.
The Gaels are back in action Sunday and face the formidable, ninth-ranked Longhorns in in Austin, Texas. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on the Longhorn Network and streaming live on the ESPN App.
