WASHINGTON, DC - The Iona University men's soccer team fell 1-0 to George Washington in non-conference action at GW Soccer Field. The Revolutionaries scored in the 79th minute to take the contest.
 
Iona outshot George Washington 15-9 and had a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal. Senior Camil Azzam Ruiz recorded six shots all on net to lead the Gaels.
 
Ben Hissrich scored his third goal of the season with 11:33 to play.
 
Junior goalkeeper Nacho Monge made three saves. His counterpart, Duncan Wegner, stopped all 10 Gael attempts.
 
Iona hosts Bryant next Saturday (September 9) at Mazzella Field in its first home contest.
