WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Iona University women's soccer team completed the grueling stretch of its 2023 campaign with a 6-0 defeat at Wake Forest in non-conference action at Spry Stadium. The Gaels (1-5) took on four power conference opponents in its first six contests.
 
The Demon Deacon scored three times in each half and had six different players record goals. The first two tallies in the final 45 minutes came via a penalty kick.
 
Junior keeper Caroline Scott faced 41 total shot attempts and recorded 15 saves. Junior Myla Rodrigues recorded the lone shot for the Maroon & Gold.
 
Iona continues its three-game road trip in its 2023 MAAC opener on Saturday (September 9) at Mount St. Mary's for a 1 p.m. kickoff with the Mountaineers on ESPN+
