Kate McNally's corner kick attempt found Rodrigues' head and then the back of the net in the 38th minute to give Iona a 1-0 lead. With less than 10 minutes to play in the contest, the Mountaineers found an equalizer as Luisangely Navas found Madison Bee on a through ball to even the score at 1-1 in the 81st minute.
The Gaels held a 15-14 shot advantage. Freshman goalkeeper
Savannah Rogers made seven saves. Her counterpart for the Mount, Klil Keshwar, stopped three.
Iona completes a three game road trip on Wednesday when they travel to Dartmouth for a 4 p.m. kick off. The Maroon & Gold is home next Sunday (September 17) for a MAAC tilt against Niagara.
