RIVERDALE, NY – The Iona University volleyball team bested Manhattan in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play, earning the victory in three sets at Draddy Gymnasium. Iona Performers
- Reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week Mija Jegers hit .273 and led all players with 13 kills. The rookie also tacked on nine digs and an assisted block.
- Graduate Grace Ehler had an efficient night, hitting .476 in a 13-point outing that also saw her net four blocks.
- Senior Mackenzie Wiggins led with 13 digs, and completed a double double with 11 kills. She had a block and an ace for 13.0 points
- Simon added 12 digs, two aces and a block to her out 32 assist effort.
- Sophomore Buse Tinaz led with five blocks.
The Opponent
- Maike Bertens was the lone Jasper to reach double digits in digs on the night with 10, while netting 10 kills.
- Mikalah Curran was the second Manhattan player with 10 kills while also tallying nine digs.
- Sarah Emmons was one of two Jaspers with double digit assists, totaling 17 while teammate Jessie Jerome finished with 12.

The Gaels take on Marist Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Poughkeepsie before they travel to Siena on Sunday.
