LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Iona University volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Rider in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Alumni Gym. The Broncs took down the Gaels in straight sets 25-21, 25-14, and 25-16.
IONA PERFORMERS
- Rookie Mia Jegers and graduate Jen Soto led the Gaels with six kills each. Jegers added five digs and an assisted block to lead the team with 6.5 points.
- Graduate Grace Ehler posted two kills and five blocks.
- Sophomore Buse Tinaz added a match-high six blocks in the loss.
- Senior setter Jordan Ader led with 11 assists and rookie libero Avery Gaume had six digs.
THE OPPONENT
- Kiannisha Santiago, Molly Rohde, and Paige Giehtbrock each had double digit point scoring efforts. Santiago posted 11 kills, an ace and two assisted blocks. Rohde had seven kills, two aces and six blocks. Giehtbrock registered 10 kills and two blocks.
- Setter Ryley Frye had 23 assists and 10 digs.
- Libero Keegan O'Connor also had 10 digs for the home team in its win.

The Gaels continue action on the road when they take on Saint Peter's tomorrow at Run Baby Run Arena.
