NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona University volleyball team fell in three sets to Sacred Heart in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at the Hynes Center. The Pioneers outscored the Gaels 25-22, 25-17 and 25-18 at the Hynes Center.

IONA PERFORMERS

• Senior Kenzie Wiggins led the Gaels with 13 kills while adding three digs.
• Graduate Grace Ehler and freshman Mija Jegers each chipped in nine kills. Ehler added a block and hit .600 with no errors in 15 attempts.
• Rookie setter Jaylyn Simon posted 24 assists and six digs.
• Junior defensive specialist Rose Porter led with nine digs.

THE OPPONENT

• Camryn Luginbuhl posted 24 of the Pioneers 50 kills in the game and had 14 digs for a double-double.
• Allison Murray had eight kills and 16 digs.
• Setter Gaby Zovko posted 30 assists with five kills, three aces, and five digs.
• Libero Miliani Villarreal had 10 digs and nine assists from the back row.

UP NEXT

The Gaels start a five-game road trip on Wednesday evening at Manhattan before traveling to Marist and Siena next weekend.
