NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona University volleyball head coach
Alyssa Kaufman announced the addition of
Jacqueline Skeen to the program as an assistant coach for the 2025 season.
"Jacqueline brings a wealth of experience as both a coach and a high-level student-athlete in the MAAC," Kaufman said. "Her passion for the game, her ability to connect with student-athletes, and her technical knowledge, especially with our middles, will make an immediate impact on our program. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Iona family."
Skeen brings more than a decade of coaching experience across the high school, club, and collegiate levels, along with a standout career in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Most recently, she served as the head varsity coach at Briarcliff High School in Northern Westchester County, New York, overseeing all levels of the program and emphasizing development through engaging, skills-based training. Prior to that, she was the head junior varsity coach at Fox Lane High School in Bedford and has coached the 18s team at Robert Jacobson Sports VBC in Ardsley since 2022.
Her collegiate coaching experience includes two seasons as an assistant at Siena College, her alma mater, where she worked with middle blockers and outside hitters, contributed to recruiting efforts, and developed in-game strategies.
Skeen's playing career at Siena was equally distinguished. A four-year starter and consistent force in the middle, she helped guide the Saints to the 2014 MAAC Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance. That season, she earned First Team All-MAAC and MAAC All-Tournament honors while posting a career-best .276 hitting percentage and 1.24 blocks per set. Her career totals of 923 kills and 451 blocks rank among the best in program history, with her block total standing second all-time.
Skeen was a two-time MAAC All-Tournament selection, earned COBRA Magazine All-Northeast honors as a freshman, and consistently delivered in key moments, including a nine-kill, seven-block performance in the 2014 championship match and a career-high 17 kills in a win over Iona in 2012.
Following her collegiate career, Skeen played professionally in Germany for SSC Freisen in the 2. Bundesliga Pro league.
A native of White Plains, New York, Skeen earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Siena and completed a master's degree in advanced psychology at the University of Essex in England.
