EDISON,NJ —  Rookie Julia Leonardo was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. This is her second rookie of the week honor. 

The Attleboro, MA, native powered the Maroon and Gold offense with 49 kills across the three-match stretch. Over 13 sets, Leonardo averaged 3.77 kills per set and posted a career-high 26 kills in Saturday's road match against Niagara. She also boosted her career total with 53 points on the week. 

Leonardo leads the team in kills (144), kills per set (3.13), points per set (3.61) and attack percentage (.211). She currently sits at fifth in the MAAC in points with 166. 

Iona continues their the 2025 regular season today at home vs. Manhattan. The match is set to tip off around 6 P.M.
