NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Before a capacity crowd on Senior Day at the Hynes Pool, the Iona University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Team closed out their regular season with a pair of victories.
The Iona women closed out their 25-26 dual meet season with a 181-57 win to finish with 8-2 dual meet record. The Iona men rolled to a 190-96 win to close out the dual meet season at 5-4.
Iona dominated the meet from start to finish, touching first in all 26 individual swim races as well as taking the 4 springboard diving events and relay races.
"Today was about our 14 seniors. They have consistently demonstrated great dedication and effort," commented Coach
Nick Cavataro "and it was great to see them win at home on their day."
On the women's side seven seniors:

Erin McKinney,
Katherine Sarnes,
Elisa Vaher,
Brennyn Veit,
Meeya Yan and
Morgan Yuengling all scored in the top 3 in races vs. Manhattan.
The men had
Jovannie Avila,
Robert Heim, JP Maroney,
Ajdin Methoxha,
Mikel Palaj,
Dylan Riccio and
Matthew Woyksnar all score Top 3 in their last events at Hynes.
Individual women winning events included:
Hailey Baker (100-Breast);
Sydney Cronin (200-Breast);
Marissa Hengesbach (200-Butterfly);
Anabel Huffstutler (200-Free and 200-Back);
Kylie McCue (500-Free);
Raegan O'Brien (100-Back);
Katherine Sarnes (1000-Free);
Emma Todd (1 & 3-Meter Diving); and
Mary Grace Waring (50-Free).
Also winning the 100-Indiviudal medley for the Iona women was
Victoria Mordaunt, who lowered the iona school record by 1.06 to 57.99, lowering the mark set in 2023 by
Julia Moser.
The men's side saw individual event wins by

Kieran Egan (100-Back and 100-Free);
Noah Giunta (200-Back);
Tomek Oakes (1000-Free);
Harry Platt (500-Free);
Dylan Riccio (1 and 3-Meter Diving);
Jonathan Rielly (100-Breast);
Harry Summers (200-Fly) and
Matthew Woyksnar (200-Free).
Both teams return to the practice pool next week as the countdown to the Feb. 11-14 MAAC Championships continues.
