NEW ROCHELLE, NY— After a season-best performance in the win over fifth-ranked Augustana this past week, the Iona University Acrobatics & Tumbling team received National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) weekly honors.

Ty Upton was named Division I Athlete of the Week, graduate student
Paige Delman earned Division I Specialist of the Week and rookie
Madison Lutte garnered Division I Freshman of the Week honors.
TY UPTON
Upton, Iona's first NCATA All-American had an all-around performance in the win over the Vikings, competing in 10-plus heats as a top, mid-level and tumbler. As a member of the six-element acro, Upton and her teammates posted a season-high 9.8 in the heat. In the synchro toss the Gaels posted a season-best 9.45. Upton elevated her difficulty even further by competing the Arabian pike split 540 in Open Toss. It is the first toss to be created in the sport of acrobatics and tumbling, scoring a 9.75. In, the tumbling event, she performed a 9.7 in the duo pass and a 9.675 in the six-element pass.The Sayreville, NJ native fifth NCATA weekly honor after earning specialist of the week twice in 2023 and Athlete of the Week two times in her All-American season at Gannon in 2024.
PAIGE DELMAN
Delman anchored multiple high-difficulty heats as a base, playing a critical role in both acro and pyramid events for the Gaels in the victory over the Vikings. In the pyramid, she helped the Maroon & Gold to back-to-back 9.8s in the inversion and synchronized heats. Delman helped lead the Gaels to a season-best 9.9 in the compulsory pyramid heat. The Longmont, CO native earned her second outright weekly award win after earning NCATA Freshman of the Week back on February 23, 2022.
MADISON LUTTE
Lutte made an immediate impact in the high-level top 5 match-up for the Gaels this past week, contributing key scores as a base across pyramid, and toss events.
The Breinigsville, PA native helped the Maroon & Gold to a season-high 9.8 in the 450-salto and a 9.45 in the synchronized toss heats. She also served as a base in the back-to-back 9.8 scores in the Inversion and Snychro pyramid. Lutte and her teammates capped the meet with a team-best 90.61 in the team event.
