LOUISVILLE, KY— The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2026 All-Region teams on Thursday afternoon, as voted on by NFCA member coaches from each respective region. Rookie
Melissa Gordon of the Iona University Softball team was selected to the Northeast Third Team All-Region.
Gordon adds another accolade to her stellar first season with the Maroon & Gold after earning Second Team All-MAAC and MAAC All-Rookie Team honors at the end of the regular season. The Levittown, NY native made 31 appearances and 19 starts in the circle for Iona in 2026, posting a 15-7 record and 1.97 earned run average in 135.0 innings pitched.
She led the MAAC circuit and ranked 24
th nationally in earned run average in 2026. Gordon's 15 wins in the circle ranked second in the conference. She also ranked sixth among league in opposing batting average at .252.
Gordon was one of three members of the MAAC to garner All-Region honors, joining MAAC Player of the Year, Peyton Pusey of Marist who collected first team honors and MAAC Pitcher of the Year, Gracie Goewey who earned second team honors.
