PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Iona University men's soccer team fell to Saint Joseph's, 1-0, on Tuesday evening at Sweeney Field to close out non-conference play. The Hawks broke a scoreless tie early in the second half and held off the Gaels the rest of the way.
THE RUNDOWN
The two sides played a scoreless opening 45 minutes, with the Gaels registering three shots in the first half. Rookie goalkeeper
Adriano Sofio turned away both shots he faced on target to keep the contest even heading into the break.
Saint Joseph's broke through in the 51st minute, scoring the eventual game winner to take a 1-0 advantage.
Sophomore
Enbiya Bolur recorded Iona's lone shot on goal in the 57th minute, but his attempt was stopped. The Maroon & Gold generated six shots and four corner kicks in the second half but could not find the equalizer.

- Sofio finished the night with four saves across 90 minutes in goal.
- Bolur registered the Gaels' lone shot on target.
