Returns for his final season as the Gaels No. 1 starter and team captain after missing the entire season due to injury... Coming off an arm injury that he was rehabbing in 2006... Was one of Iona top pitchers as a sophomore and junior in 2004 and 2005... Throws in the mid-80's and possesses a tremendous off speed pitch... Born 2/20/84... Majoring in Marketing.
AS A SENIOR:
Missed the entire season due to injury.
AS A JUNIOR:
Appeared in and started 10 games for the Gaels in 2005... Went 3-7 with a 5.75 ERA... Tossed two complete game shutouts to lead the team in both categories... Took a hard-luck loss at Norfolk State, allowing two runs in 6.1 innings in a 2-1 defeat... Earned the win in a thrilling 3-2 win over nationally ranked Fresno State on St. Patrick's Day tossing five innings and allowing two runs in the victory... Tossed a complete-game one hitter with four strikeouts vs. Canisius on Apr. 4... Two outings later he allowed four hits and struck out seven batters in his second shutout of the season vs. Manhattan on Apr. 16... Hitless in six at-bats at the plate and picked up a start at designated hitter vs. Siena on May 2 due to injuries.
AS A SOPHOMORE:
Made 15 appearances and logged 14 starts on the mound for the Gaels... Threw 79.2 innings and finished with a 5.31 ERA... Tied for second on the team in wins (4) and complete games (1)... Struck out 43 batters... Threw nine innings of three-run ball getting the win over Siena on Apr. 25... Pitched eight strong innings allowing two runs and striking out seven vs. Canisius on May 9... Scattered eight hits and allowed two runs in a complete game vs. Rider on May 17...
AS A FRESHMAN:
Made 13 appearances and nine starts... Pitched to a 3-1 record... Allowed only 42 hits in 56.1 innings pitched, the most innings pitched on the team... Struck out 27 batters, 25 of which came in conference play... Had a 2.24 ERA, good for second on the team and ninth on the all-time season record book... Garnered a 1.94 ERA in MAAC games.
BEFORE IONA:
Earned All-State First Team honors for his junior season at Valley Central, going 7-1 with a 1.84 ERA while hitting .400 with 26 RBI at the plate en route to being named the Times-Herald Record Player of the year... Compiled a 4-1 record with a 1.66 ERA during senior season... Guided Valley Central to the state championship game in 2000... Member of 2000 American Legion NYS champion.. Also a five-time soccer, two-time basketball, one-time football letterwinner at VCHS.
