JT Genovese was promoted to the program's pitching coach prior to the start of the 2020 season. Prior to that, Genovese was a volunteer assistant coach durnig the 2019 season.

In his first full time season, the seasonw as cut short due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Gaels were 3-13 overall and had not begun MAAC play yet. Pitcher Stephen Hansen was voted to the MAAC Preseason Team.

Genovese played his college ball at the University at Albany.
