Ryan Moretti joined the Iona College Baseball program in July 2020 as the Coordinator, Baseball Operations & Player Development.
Prior to Iona, Ryan has been working with several travel baseball organizations in the New York Westchester County area. The organizations Ryan has worked for are the New York Silverbacks and JustinTime Baseball. With the New York Silverbacks he was working with the 15/16 U team during the Fall 2019 and Summer 2020 season.
In February 2020, he transitioned into a new role with the Detroit Tigers as a Baseball Information Assistant. His primary responsibilities included utilizing TrackMan and BATS software to chart, upload, and download game information for the Gulf Coast League East Tigers. Some other responsibilities he had included performing player analysis with Edgertronic, Rapsodo (hitting & pitching), BLAST Motion, Force Plates and 4D Motion along with organizing their outputs and generating usage reports as needed. Also, he assisted with the day-to-day Baseball Information operations during Major and Minor League Spring Training.
In March 2019, he began working as a Minor League Video Intern for the Baltimore Orioles. Some major responsibilities of the internship consisted of setting up cameras and inputting rosters and lineups. The primary job responsibility was to film the in-game pitchers and hitters using four field cameras to chart the game. Ryan charted every home game using TrackMan and BATS! software. After each game, he uploaded and cataloged the Trackman information, which was sent to the Orioles video staff for review. Simultaneously, he reviewed pitch/game data for any errors at the conclusion of the game and uploaded the data to TrackMan. Ryan was also available before games to film bullpens, batting practice, early work, and helped players and staff with any video/ technology related requests. Lastly, Ryan assisted the coaching staff for the Delmarva Shorebirds, which is the Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles to a 90-48 record while reaching the South Atlantic League playoffs for the first time since 2005.
Moretti earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Springfield College in May 2019.
