Iona University Athletics

GENERAL:
Will continue to be counted on to produce in the beginning and middle of the batting order... Has the ability to play all four positions in the infield... A good hitter with some pop in his bat... Played high school baseball with teammate Allie Abbitello at Eastchester HS.

AS A JUNIOR (2008):
Appeared in 41 games, with 146 at-bats...Led Gaels with a .301 average and .438 Slugging %...Opened season with a hit and an RBI at Duke (Feb. 23)...Went 2-5 with a double, triple and an RBI at Duke (Feb. 24)...Fell just a home run shy of the cycle, after going 3-3 with a run and an RBI vs. Rhode Island (Mar. 9)...Went 2-4 with a home run, double, run scored and four RBI at Navy (Mar. 10)...1-3 with an RBI at West Virginia (Mar. 15)...Scored two runs at Canisius (Mar. 30)...Went 2-3 with two doubles and two runs scored vs. Sacred Heart (Apr. 2)...2-4 with a run and an RBI vs. Fairfield (Apr. 26)...Scored three runs vs. Niagara (May  3).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2007):
Finished sixth on the squad with a .243 batting average while starting all 48 games he appeared in throughout the 51 game season... Started all games at shortstop... Collected 43 hits, including eight doubles, three homers, and 17 runs batted in, all four stats ranked second on the team... Also tied for fourth on the team with an on base percentage of .301... Had a team-best 138 defensive assists... Had 10 multi-hit games and three multi-RBI efforts... Went 4-for-5 with three runs scored at home vs. Siena on Mar. 24

AS A FRESHMAN (2006):
Finished fourth on the squad with a .285 batting average starting 42 of the 44 games he appeared in... Started games at second base, third base, shortstop and designated hitter... Collected 39 hits including 14 doubles (second on the team) a triple and a home run with 13 runs batted in... Finished second on the team with 92 assists... Had eight multi-hit and two multi-RBI efforts including an Iona season high five RBI vs. St. Bonaventure on Mar. 11... Went 3-for-6 with two runs scored, a double and a his first collegiate home run, a three run shot in the third inning vs. the Bonnies in Palm Beach, FL... Had three hits and three runs scored at Central Connecticut on Apr. 26... Hit in six straight games to end the season in MAAC weekend series vs. Fairfield and at Marist (May 13-19).

BEFORE IONA:
League and Conference player of the year at Eastchester High School... Earned all State honors as a senior... Also Lettered in Football and Basketball... Transfered from St. John’s after one semester.
