Kelly O'Neil

Biography

Kelly O’Neil joined the Iona College Athletic Department in September of 2010 as Assistant to the Athletic Director. In her role, she will be responsible for assisting Director of Athletics Patrick Lyons with the daily operations of the athletics department, as well as serve as the travel coordinator for the Gaels' 21 Division I athletic programs.  Prior to joining Iona’s staff, O’Neil was a Teacher’s Assistant with middle school students, as well as the Junior Varsity softball coach at White Plains High School.      

Kelly is a 2008 graduate of The College of the Holy Cross, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English, with a Creative Writing Concentration.  She was a four year starter on the softball team, and a two time captain.  She was a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member, and earned First-Team All-Patriot League her senior year.  O’Neil completed her senior year with a .989 fielding percentage, totaling only three errors in 41 games, as well as a team-high 25 RBI’s, 13 runs scored, 35 hits, six doubles, and set the single season home run record.  Kelly is also the career home run record holder at Holy Cross.  

O’Neil is currently working towards an MBA at Iona in Marketing, with a Sports and Entertainment Certificate. She currently resides in White Plains.
