Iona University Athletics

William Montanaro is in his third year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development. Appointed in August 2008, William serves as the head of the Iona College Goal Club, the fundraising arm for Iona College's 21-sport NCAA Division I Athletics Program.  In this role Will is responsible to develop and implement strategies for identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospective donors and assist in alumni relations efforts with the College Advancement Office.  In addition Will plans and organizes several annual athletic fundraising events including the Goal Club Hall of Fame Golf Outing & annual Homecoming Fundraiser.

Will is in his fifth year working for the Iona College athletics department after serving two years as the Assistant to the Athletic Director. In this role he was responsible for assisting Director of Athletics Patrick Lyons with the day-to-day operations of the athletics department.

Montanaro earned his bachelor's degree in Management from the Hagan School of Business in 2006 and completed his MBA degree in Management from Hagan in January 2008. Montanaro also completed an Electronic Commerce Certificate in January 2008 from the Hagan School of Business. As an undergraduate, Montanaro was a four-year letter winner and four-time MAAC All-Academic selection while serving as an outside linebacker on the Iona College football team.  On the field, Montanaro had his finest season in Maroon & Gold as a senior recording 34 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 2 pass break ups while starting all 10 games for the team.

As a native of Highland Mills in Orange County, NY, Montanaro resides in Tuckahoe.
