Byron Garcia joined the Iona men's soccer coaching staff prior to the 2020 season. Garcia comes to Iona after spending four seasons as an Assistant Coach at Mercy College. Garcia has also been involved with coaching at the youth level, serving as the head coach of the Asphalt Green U17 boy's team, the head coach of the New York Surf U16 girl's team and as an assistant with the Harrison Youth Soccer Club.
After graduating from Post University in 2012, Garcia began working with the New York Red Bulls Training Program, spending nearly six years there. Garcia played collegiately for Ulster County Community College from 2007-08 before finishing his career at Post. At Ulster CC, Garcia was a 2007 National Finalist and was selected to the Second Team All-Region in 2008. At Post, Garcia was a part of a team that won the program's first regular season championship.
