While a student-athlete at Iona College, McLain worked his way to be an incredibly reliable part of the Gael defense. As a junior in 2015 he started in all 20 games he appeared in, and come his senior year he started in 12 of 14 appearances. His lone collegiate point, an assist, came in his final season on Sept. 13 at Stony Brook.
Away from Iona, McLain has stepped out of his way to take part in the Boys and Girls Club and Christian Brother’s Outreach. In these volunteering efforts, McLain mentored young children on the importance of work ethic and provided much needed companionship.
McLain walked across the stage in May of 2017 with an accredited Bachelors of Arts and Science in Psychology.
