Iona College head men's soccer coach Fernando Barboto announced the appointment of Steve McAnulty as assistant coach before the 2005 season.

McAnulty's experience in the coaching ranks comes from a stint at his alma mater, Columbia, as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs.

McAnulty attended Columbia University in 1995 where he played four years of varsity soccer and earned First Team All-Ivy League accolades in 1994. He went on to play professionally with the New Jersey Imperials and the Long Island Rough Riders in the USL. During his time in the professional ranks, McAnulty was a teammate with both Barboto and former Iona assistant Paul O'Donnell.

McAnulty currently resides in Manhattan and works full time for the New York City fire department.
