Don Justus joins Head Coach Jaime Wohlbach in the duo’s first season as the Iona College softball staff. Justus will act as the team’s pitching coach in addition to taking over responsibility for the Gael’s outfield.

Before coming to Iona, Justus served as the varsity head coach at Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, CT. In addition to his work as the softball coach at Sacred Heart Academy, Justus has also run The Cage Softball Training Facility in Branford, CT since 2003. His work included developing and coordinating instruction and training programs while providing hitting, pitching, and all-skills training for individuals and groups. He also spent a season as an assistant coach at Kutztown University in 2004-2005.

Since 1998, Justus has served as a part of the Connecticut Hornets Softball Program for the past 10 years, a club team located in Branford. As president and coach of the organization, he was responsible for the placement and development of 130 players in the Hornets organization. The program had two top five finishes in the PONY National Tournament under his watch, a third place showing in the 2003 and a fifth place performance the following year.

Justus and wife Jodie, currently reside in Branford, Connecticut.
