Karen Strittmatter is in her first season serving as an assistant coach on the Iona College softball coaching staff. Strittmaster spent the last season as an assistant coach at Felician College as well as Administrator of Softball training at Elite Training Academy in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Strittmatter spent two seasons as head softball coach at Midland Parks High School, qualifying for Counties and state tournaments.
As a player, Strittmater spent two years as a pitcher on the Bergen Community College squad. During her time with the Bulldogs, Strittmatter helped guide the team to a berth in the Regional Finals. For her effort, she was an All-Region selection as a pitcher in both of her seasons at BCC ('79, '80). Additionally, she was a First Team All-American Selection as a pitcher in 1980.
From there, Strittmatter joined the squad at Seton Hall. She earned First Team All-League and All-Region selections as a pitcher during her two seasons with the Pirates.
