The Iona College women's basketball program and head coach Billi Chambers are happy to have Alyssa Casino as the team's director of basketball operations for a second season.
"Alyssa rose to the top of a very strong pool of candidates. She impressed me months ago when she took on the job of facilities assistant. She is extremely hard working, bright, and has a passion for Iona College." Coach Chambers continues, "Additionally, her knowledge of the athletics department will be tremendous in allowing her to transition smoothly into the role. We are thrilled that she has chosen to join our program."
Casino served as an assistant coach for the Manhattanville College softball program for the past two seasons while also working as a Publicity Events Assistant at Westchester Country Club. Casino returns to Iona after having served the Maroon & Gold working with athletic facilities and game operations over two years. During that time, she filled in as the Interim Assistant Athletic Director/Facilities and Operations from August till October 2016.

Casino is the All-Time career digs leader at Manhattanville and was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014.
Casino was also a spotlight student-athlete on the Manhattanville softball team. She was part of the program's 2014 Free Conference Championship and 2014 NCAA Salisbury Regional Runner-Up team. She returned to the program in August of 2015 as an assistant coach where she mentored student-athletes both academically and athletically. During her time on the Valiants coaching staff, the program won the 2016 and 2017 conference championship.
Casino graduated from Manhattanville College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Sports Studies in May of 2015. She completed a Master's Degree program in Sports Business Management in May of 2017. While a student she earned honors distinction for the mathematics department and sport studies department while being a consistent list on the Dean's list from Fall 2011 to Spring 2015.
