Brianna Sanders joined the Iona College women's basketball staff as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator in June of 2022. Sanders came to Iona after most recently serving as an assistant at Akron University.
Sanders spent the previous five seasons with the Zips, serving as the co-offensive coordinator and assisting with recruiting efforts, specifically junior college recruits. Prior to her time at Akron, Sanders worked as the director of operations at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for three seasons.
She also spent time as an assistant coach for the Reynoldsburg High School girls' varsity basketball team in Columbus, Ohio. The team finished with a 23-5 record and won the Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) title and went on to claim the district title and advance to the regional final.
A 2014 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in African and African-American Studies, Sanders played for the Buckeyes from 2009-11. After suffering an injury, she went on to become a student coach for the remainder of her time as a Buckeye. Ohio State earned the Big Ten Conference regular season title once in her time in Columbus and twice won the Big Ten Tournament title.
