Jordan McCann comes to Iona having served as an assistant coach at four previous institutions, the most recent being the University of Bridgeport.

At the University of Bridgeport, McCann handled assistant coaching duties in addition to being the recruiting coordinator. He handled all film exchange, coordinated team travel and was an assistant in developing practice plans. McCann drafted scouting reports on Knights opponents and during practice he worked primarily with the guards in breakdowns.

Prior to joining the University of Bridgeport, McCann was an assistant coach with Colorado College. In addition to achieving all assistant coach duties, he also directed media communications for the women's basketball program and organized community service projects.

McCann was with Hamilton College for one season before joining Colorado College. His first coaching job was with St. Thomas University, where he stayed for two full seasons in which each team won the Sun Conference Regular Season title and Sun Conference Tournament Championship. While with St. Thomas, McCann was also Intramural Sports Coordinator.

Before joining the college coaching realm, McCann worked in an internship with the University of Illinois women's basketball program for a summer. He was also the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at Urbana University High School.

McCann graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Sport and Tourism with a concentration in Sports Management. He was a practice player with the Fighting Illini for three years as a student. McCann received a Master's Degree in Sports Administration at St. Thomas University.
