Iona College lacrosse head coach Michelle Mason announced the addition of Liz Malenfant to the Gaels' coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in September 2013. Malenfant is a 2013 graduate of Mount Holyoke College, where she was a two-year starter for the Lyons and also a member of the women’s soccer team.

“Liz is a great addition to our coaching staff," said Mason. "She is enthusiastic, has a natural
ability to relate to the players, and possesses an undeniable love for the game."

Malenfant led her team to an ECAC Championship her senior year, and was recognized by the NEWMAC as Player of the Week three times, Mount Holyoke Lyon of the Week, ECAC Player of the Week, ECAC Most-Outstanding Player, All-Conference First Team and IWLCA All-Region Second Team.

In her role with the Gaels, Malenfant will work with the team's goalies and assist with graphic design and promotion of lacrosse events.
