NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) -- Charron Fisher scored 26 points and Niagara cruised past winless Iona 79-58 on Tuesday night.
Lorenzo Miles added 18 points and Clif Brown had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Purple Eagles (3-6, 1-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
Anthony Bruin scored 18 points and Justin Marshall had 14 for the Gaels (0-9, 0-2), who are enduring the worst start in their 62 seasons of intercollegiate basketball.
The nine losses represent the longest losing streak since coach Gene Roberti's final Iona team (4-19) finished the 1974-75 season with 15 consecutive losses.
Niagara never trailed and, boosted by Fisher's 11 points, led 34-18 at halftime.
The Gaels narrowed the deficit to as close as 46-35 after two free throws by Bruin capped a 9-2 run with 13:51 left, but they got no closer.
The Purple Eagles were 9-of-21 from 3-point range and 24-of-31 at the free throw line while the Gaels were 0-for-14 from beyond the arc and 10-of-25 at the line.
