BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Chuck Harris scored 27 points to lead Canisius in a 72-65 win over Iona in overtime Thursday.
Frank Turner added 15 points, going 11-for-14 from the foul line for Canisius (8-10, 3-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
Devon Clarke led Iona (0-17, 0-7 MAAC) with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Anthony Bruin added 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Mike Harris contributed 13.
It looked promising for Iona after the first half, despite committing 11 turnovers leading to 13 Canisius points, the Gaels shot 12-for-20 from the field and outrebounded the Golden Griffins 23-12 to take a 31-29 lead at halftime.
Canisius opened an eight point lead, 57-49, but Iona chipped away, earning a 61-59 lead with 1:15 left.
Harris tied the score with a 3-pointer to push the game into overtime with just 4.6 seconds left to play.
Iona had a 49.1 percent shooting average from the floor, while Canisius shot at 37.5 percent. Iona rebounded Canisius 46-30.
