LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP)-Clif Brown had 27 points and 13 rebounds to lead Niagara in a 81-80 victory over winless Iona Saturday.
Niagara (10-10, 5-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led by as many as 15 points early in the second half, but Anthony Bruin's layup with 13.1 seconds remaining left Iona (0-18, 0-8 MAAC) down 81-80.
Charron Fisher finished with 21 points for Niagara. J.R. Duffey and Miles each added 11.
Iona was led by Bruin who finished with 24 points, Mike Harris added 17.
The Purple Eagles built a 15-point lead with a 16-3 run through the middle stages of the first half, capped by Tyrone Lewis' three point play with less than six minutes left.
Iona crawled back into the contest with an 11-3 second half run.
Kevin Hassett's 3-pointer cut the Niagara lead to 58-51.
