basketball team's 67-60 loss at Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic

Louie McCroskey came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points to lead Marist.
Ben Farmer had 16 points for the Red Foxes (16-13, 10-7 MAAC). David Devezin had 13 points and Ryan Schneider added 12.
Iona (11-19, 7-10) led by as much as 12 on two occasions in the first half, but Marist held the Gaels scoreless for the final four minutes of the half and cut Iona's lead to 28-23 at the break.
The Red Foxes hit their first three 3-point attempts of the second half to tie the score at 32-32 with 17:57 remaining. After five lead changes and four ties, the Red Foxes took the lead for good when Ryan Stilphen's layup with 6:11 to go put Marist up 55-53.
Sophomore De'Shaune Griffin added 11 points with three 3-pointers in the loss.
Coupled with a Manhattan loss, Iona will be the No. 7 seed in the 2008 MAAC Championship next weekend at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY. The Gaels will take on No. 10 Canisius next Friday (Mar. 7) at 10:00 pm. Prior to that, however, the Gaels and Jaspers end the regular season at the Hynes Center on Sunday afternoon.
