BUFFALO, NY - The Iona College women's swimming and diving team defeated Canisius College in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action on the road Saturday morning. The Gaels were victorious in six events, outscoring the Griffs by a score of 131-110.
Mone finished second in the 50 yd free with a time of 25.67.
Kerri-Anne Dodenhoff was third with a time of 26.30 while
Sarah Walker was sixth with a time of 27.35.
Skeivys was second in the 200 yd IM with a time of 2:20.65.
Sam Cody was fourth in the event with a time of 2:22.98 while
Jamie Manser was fifth with a time of 2:24.68.
Cody was second in the 200 yd fly with a time of 2:18.39. Ponzo took third with a time of 2:20.57 while Nowakowski was fourth with a time of 2:24.34.
In the 100 yd free, Mone took first with a time of 54.82. Dodenhoff was fourth with a time of 57.55 while McGregor was sixth with a time of 1:00.12.
In the 200 yd backstroke, Skeivys took second with a time of 2:17.64. Johnson came in the third in the event with a time of 2:19.47 while Nowakowski was fifth with a time of 2:26.95.
Doughty picked up a victory for the Gaels with a first place finish in the 500 yd freestyle, touching the wall with a time of 5:25.43. Larkin was third in the event with a time of 5:37.19 while Williams was fourth with a time of 5:39.56.
In the 200 yd breaststroke, Manser came in first with a time of 2:35.87. In second was Walker with a time of 2:36.12 was Walker. Hyokyvaara was third with a time of 2:36.36.
In the 400 yd freestyle relay, the team of Williams, Dodenhoff, McGregor and Doughty was second with a time of 3:51.05. The relay of Larkin, Michalak, Walker and Ponzo was fourth with a time of 3:59.08.
In three meter diving, Gongloff was second with 180.52 points. Dilascio was third with 124.05 while Colburn was fourth with 116.55 points.
The Gaels are back in action Wednesday, Dec. 1 when they travel to Brooklyn, NY to compete against St. Francis (NY).
