PRINCETON, NJ - The Iona College women's water polo team continued play at the
Princeton Invitational with a pair of contests. Once again sans key
players, the Gaels lost to 18th ranked Brown 14-11 and Colorado State
by the score of 9-8.
Against the Bears, senior Meghan Keller had four goals and an assist. Freshman Alyssa Turza scored three times for the Gaels while junior Maggie Wood had three points on an goal and two assists.
Freshman Lauren Scheetz had a goal while classmate Terra Shelton had two goals.
Junior Kathleen Link had 10 saves in net for the Gaels, while adding three steals to her defensive resume.
Against the Rams of Colorado State, Link added another nine saves in defeat. Sophomore Cecilia Leonard had six points and five goals and an assist while drawing two kickouts. Keller added two points on a goal and an assist. Scheetz and Turza each added tallies for the Gaels while Wood added an assist.
The Gaels compete at the ECAC Championships as the fifth seed, taking on Princeton in the first round.
