SOUTH ORANGE, NJ- The Iona College baseball team dropped another tight contest, 10-8, to Central Connecticut in its final contest at the Seton Hall Strikeout Cancer Tournament at Carroll Field. Sophomore 1B James Beck went 4-for-5 with a career-best five RBI to lead the Gaels.

Iona fought back from seven runs down and cut its deficit to 9-8 with six runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Beck had two run scoring doubles in the contest and scored a run. Senior LF Andrew Passerelle was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI and junior 2B Nick Rossetti and sophomore 3B Chris Burke had two hits a piece including a double in the loss. Sophomore SS Eric Capowski also scored three times and recorded a stolen base.

Rookie RHP Matt Marley (1-2) took the loss.

The Gaels have a day off on Monday and complete its stretch of nine games in 10 days at New York Tech on Tuesday (Mar. 23).
