BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Iona College baseball team fell 10-4 to Sacred Heart in non-conference action at Harbor Yard. The Pioneers scored nine of their 10 runs in the middle three innings to defeat the Gaels.

Michael Chiaravalloti was the lone Gael to record multiple hits with a 2-of-4 effort including a double, a run scored and an RBI. Junior C

Nick Rossetti came off the bench and recorded a pinch hit in his lone plate appearance to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. Rossetti has hit safely in 16 of 19 games thus far and reached base in all but one.
The Gaels open up their home slate this weekend with a three-game series against Marist at Salesian Field. The two teams square off in a doubleheader on Saturday (Apr.3) before completing the series on Monday (Apr. 5) after the Easter holiday.
