NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped the series finale to Niagara 12-9 in MAAC action at Salesian Field. The Purple Eagles used a four-run ninth inning to come away with the victory.

Michael Chiaravalloti went 4-for-5 and senior LF
Andrew Passerelle had three hits to lead the Gaels offensively. Chiaravalloti drove in three runs including a solo home run in the ninth inning to dead centerfield, his second homer of the season. Passerelle scored twice and had two RBI. Freshman CF
Anthony Muccio had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run. All nine starters for the Gaels recorded a hit in the loss.

Matt Marley tossed 6.1 innings in a no-decision. Freshman RHP

Iona is back in action next weekend in a four-game series with Fairleigh Dickinson in its MAAC bye weekend. The Gaels travel to Teaneck, NJ for a doubleheader on Saturday before hosting the Knights at Salesian Field on Sunday. All four games will be seven innings.
