FORDHAM TOPS IONA, 12-9

BRONX, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped a 12-9 decision to Fordham in non-conference action at Houlihan Park. Fordham used a nine-run eighth inning to come from behind in the contest.

Five players had multiple hit efforts inthe less. Senior LF Andrew Passerelle, junior 2B Nick Rossetti and sophomores 1B Michael Chiaravalloti, DH Dean Dignelli and RF Colin Lyall each had two hits. Lyall drove in three runs while Rossetti and sophomore 3B Chris Burke each scored twice in the loss.

Rookie RHP Pete Ladis allowed two runs in 5.1 innings of work. Sophomore RHP Anthony Castellitto (0-3) took the loss.

The Gaels return to action this weekend in a MAAC three-game series with Siena in Loudonville.
