POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The
second-seeded Iona
College women's water
polo team fell to Marist 18-5 in the 2010 MAAC Women's Water Polo Championship
Game, held at Marist's McCann Natatorium.
For Iona, sophomore Caitlin McGregor and
junior Maggie Wood each had two goals. Freshman Lauren Scheetz added the final
tally for the Gaels.
The
Red Foxes earned the league's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's
Water Polo Championship. The Gaels
finished out the year at 21-14 overall.
McGregor and sophomore Mackenzie Mone were named to the All Tournament Team
along with Samantha Swartz and Angela Rampton from Marist College,
Lauren French and Kelsey Rodgers from Wagner College and Jackie Crosby from
Siena College.
