STATEN ISLAND, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped an 18-6 decision to Wagner at Richmond County Bank Stadium. The Gaels pounded out 14 hits but fell short on the scoreboard.

Sophomore C James Beck went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. Junior DH Chris Griffin also had three hits. Rookie SS Matthew Kriss had two hits and drove in a team best two runs. Senior LF Andrew Passerelle doubled twice and drove in a run.   Sophomore 1B Michael Chiaravalloti recorded his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot with one out in the fourth.

Rookie RHP Pete Ladis (0-3) took the loss as nine pitchers saw action in the contest.

The Gaels are back to MAAC action this weekend at Saint Peter's on Saturday and Sunday.
