NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Salesian Field. The Red Foxes won the opener 8-6 and the nightcap 16-1.
Junior 2B 
Nick Rossetti continued his torrid hitting with three hits. He scored a run and drove in two in five plate appearances. Freshman RF 
Kyle Charron also posted three hits and scored a run. Sophomore 3B 
Chris Burke was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Senior LF 
Andrew Passerelle, sophomore DH 
James Beck each had an RBI. Rookie CF 
Anthony Muccio came off the bench and hit his first collegiate home run, drilling the fourth pitch he saw in his first at bat the opposite way over the left field fence.
In game two, the Red Foxes exploded for 16 runs, getting on the board in six of the game's seven innings.
Rossetti snapped his 13-game hitting streak and was hitless in two at bats. Muccio and sophomore RF 
Colin Lyall each had two hits. Muccio went yard again in his first at bat in a mirror image home run from the first game that accounted for Iona's lone run.
The two teams complete their three game series after the Easter holiday on Monday afternoon.  First pitch is slated for 1:00 pm at Salesian Field.
