JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Iona College baseball team dropped a 9-8 decision to Saint Peter's in MAAC action at Jaroschak Field. A pitcher's duel through seven innings turned into a wild eighth and ninth in the defeat for the Gaels.
Tied at 2-2 entering the eight, each team put up six runs in the frame. The Peacocks scored the game ending run with one out in the bottom of the ninth.

Matthew Kriss each went 3-for-5 to lead the Gaels offensively. Kriss had two doubles, scored twice and drove in two runs. Junior 2B
Nick Rossetti continued his hot hitting with two hits. He posted three RBI and a run scored to go along with his eighth double of the year. Sophomore
Chris Burke blasted his fourth home run of the year, a two-run shot with two down in the eighth inning.
Rookie RHP
Thomas Kriss tossed 7.0 innings with seven strikeouts. He allowed three earned runs on nine hits in the no decision. His classmate, RHP
Ryan Martin (0-3) took the loss.
The Gaels are back in action in their final non-conference game of the season when they travel to St. John's on Tuesday (May 4).
