HEMPSTEAD, NY - The Iona College softball traveled to Hofstra Tuesday afternoon to take on the Pride in non-conference action. The Pride scored runs in five of their
six at-bats and defeated the Gaels by the score of 6-0.
Hofstra scored runs in the first, second and third innings. The Pride put up two runs in the fourth before putting one more across in the sixth. Tessa Ziemba
and Sara Michalowski each had two RBIs for Hofstra.
Junior
Alyssa Maiese took the loss for Iona, falling to 6-11 on the year. Maiese allowed five runs, four earned, in 3.1 innings of work. Erin Wade picked up the
win for Hofstra, pitching seven innings, allowing just three hits and walking one.
The Gaels travel to Fordham Wednesday for another non-conference ballgame. First pitch is at 3:00 pm.
