BRONX, NY - The Iona College softball team finished its non-conference slate by traveling to Fordham Wednesday afternoon. Only able to get one run across, the Gaels fell to the Rams by the score of 6-1.
The Rams scored two runs in the first when C Meghan Shager singled two home. The Rams added another run in the fourth before the Rams put three across in the fifth on a home run by CF Erin Fisher.
The lone Iona run came in the seventh. Junior P
Alyssa Maiese's second home run of the season stopped the Rams' shutout bid, and was the first run surrendered by Fordham pitching in 48 innings.

Deanne Algeo took the loss for the Gaels, allowing two runs in three innings of work. Algeo's record fell to 3-3 while Fordahm's Chelsea Plimpton pitched all seven and moved to 10-2 on the season.
The Gaels return to action this weekend when they conclude their regular season by hosting Saint Peter's in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. Game one of the double header Saturday begins at 1:00pm.
