PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Iona College men's soccer team lost its second straight game by a one-goal margin with a 1-0 defeat at Saint Joseph's on Saturday night.  The Gaels were kept off the scoreboard despite holding a commanding 22-10 shot advantage.

Saint Joseph's ended a 24-game losing streak with the win, made possible by Patrick McGlynn's 67th minute unassisted goal.  With the contest still scoreless well into the second period, McGlynn dribbled down the center of the field and netted a low shot into the right corner from the 18 yard line.

Iona outperformed the Hawks 13-3 in shot attempts during the second half, trying to make up the late difference.  The Maroon & Gold logged eight shots over the final 22 minutes including four shots on goal, all of which were either blocked or saved by goalkeeper Michael Moulton.  Moulton ended the night with nine saves.

Gael goalie Jesse Fullerton had three saves in the loss, while Iona led 9-5 in corner kicks.  The team returns home to host Stony Brook at 3:00 pm on Sep. 29.
