PITTSBURGH, PA - The Iona College men's and women's swimming and diving team completed the opening day of competition Friday at the ECAC Championships hosted by the University of Pittsburgh. The women's team currently sits tied for 11th with 38 points while the men are in ninth place with 52 points.
In the "B" final of the 200 yard IM,
Chris Yacobacci finished seventh (15th overall in the event) with a time of 1:56.36, picking up two points. In the "B"final of the 50 yard freestyle, Porrazzo finished third (11th overall) with a time of 21.33, earning six points.
In the women's final of the 400 yard medley relay,
Kelsie Johnson, Manser, Harvey and Dodenhoff took eighth with a time of 4:00.11, good for 22 more Iona points. The men's squad of Porrazzo, Yacobacci, Elfert and Grigull matched the ladies with an eighth place finish, with a time of 3:29.94.
The ECAC Championships continue through Sunday.
