PITTSBURGH, PA - The Iona College swimming and diving team continued competition at the ECAC Championships Saturday at the University of Pittsburgh. After two days, the women's team sits in eighth place with 106 points while the men are 11th with 101 points.
In the "B" final of the 400 yard IM,
Brigitte Doughty took seventh (15th overall in the event) with a time of 4:42.29, earning two points. In the "B" final of the 100 yard fly,
Theresa Harvey took fifth (13th overall) with a time of 58.34, earning four points.
In the "B" final of the 200 yard freestyle,
Justin Grigull took seventh (15th overall) with a time of 1:44.32, earning two points. In the "B" final of the 100 yard backstroke, Porrazzo took second (10th overall) with a time of 52.02, earning seven points.
In the final of the 100 yard breaststroke,
Jamie Manser continued her recent strong swimming, taking fourth with a time of 1:04.46 and earning Iona 15 points.
In the 800 yard freestyle relay, the team of Harvey,
Kara Nowakowski, Johnson and Doughty took ninth with a time of 7:52.61, cutting nine seconds off their seed time. The finish earned the Gaels 18 points. The men also finished ninth as Yacobacci,
Lee Stiles, Grigull and
Joseph De Leone finished with a time of 7:04.28, earning 18 points.
