NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Sacred Heart used a 10-run seventh inning to defeat the Iona College baseball team 14-6 in non-conference action at Salesian Field. The Gaels pounded out 12 hits but were unable to plate enough to top the Pioneers.

Nick Rossetti went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, two runs scored a run batted in. Rossetti scored Iona's second run in the bottom of the second inning. He stole home on the front end of a successful double-steal by the Gaels.
Sacred Heart's Conor McEvoy and MJ Schifano combined for seven hits, seven runs scored and five RBI.

Stephen Bianchi tossed 5.1 strong innings, allowing two hits, an earned run while walking one and striking out another. After Bianchi left the game, Iona's bullpen surrendered 12 runs (only four earned) over the next 3.2 innings.
The Gaels are back in action this weekend when they travel to Lawrenceville, NJ to take on reigning MAAC Champion Rider for a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday.
