LOUDONVILLE, NY - The Iona College women's water polo team opened up play at the Siena Invitational Saturday with a pair of victories. The Gaels were able to defeat Gannon 18-11 before defeating Adirondack in an exhibition matchup.
Against Gannon, senior
Maggie Wood led the Gaels with five goals. Wood drew two kickouts in the contest and picked up a steal on the defensive end to complete another strong game for the Maroon & Gold. Freshmen

Erika Lauraitis each had three goals in the contest. Junior

Cecilia Leonard had two points on a goal and an assist. Sophomore
Alyssa Turza also had a goal and an assist, and drew three kickouts. Senior

Sarah Hanly each had one goal apiece, with Cody picking up three defensive steals.

Marisa Gaynor each played a half in net, combining for a total of six saves and two steals. The Gaels return to action tomorrow with contests against Siena (11:30 am) and RPI (2:30 pm).
